Importance of Sound Suspension

There comes a time when the pretty paint, bling bling wheels, and deep bass have to yield to the nitty gritty "basics" (or not!) of any lowered custom truck - the suspension setup.

That is, if you actually plan on ever driving your truck, which, for me at least, is a big priority. While some base a truck's merit on the quality of paint, size of rim, quality of interior, and overall WOW factor, I consider suspension to be one of the biggest factors.

The suspension setup can turn an eyesore into a beauty, and likewise, a "flawless" cover truck into a rolling nightmare. Suspension is where fabrication and innovation express themselves, and where the true functionality of the truck is revealed.

However, it is also that one area where you can invest hundreds of hours of work only to have it look EXACTLY the same on the outside as it did beforehand, if you know what I mean! From the outside, noone knows you changed the valves, gauges, bags, compressors, and linkage. It is not always the "fun" part of a truck (that is, until you drive it and feel the difference!) But it is this investment that keeps your truck reliably (and often safely) on the road in the long run, which is always a goal to strive for.

With that being said, if I had X amount of money to spend in upgrading my truck, I would (and did!) choose suspension upgrades over paint, wheels, bodywork, tunes, billet, or a bodydrop. You simply cannot afford a suspension failure on the road, nomatter how pretty your truck looks! Neglected suspension will eventually catch up with you, so upgrade and at least maintain it before your truck rudely forces you.
