Undercoating is my friend

Undercoating a shop door

What do you do if you have a large area to paint that doesn't see any traffic?

I spent this whole weekend cleaning and basically tweaking out on my shop. I used to share the shop with a friend, but he bought a house with a large garage and has no need for a shop anymore. So I spent most of the weekend buying little nick-nacky things like air chucks and such so the shop was fully functional again. As usual I went over the deep end and decided to paint the back of the shop door. After spraying three cans of satin black paint and only covering about half the door I went digging through the spray can box to see if I had something that would cover better. I had a few cans of rubberized undercoating so I used that. That stuff covers great and not only is my door nice and black its also little more sound proof! I would recommend ventilating the area if you paint I didn't and by the time I was done the room was spinning.
