The rear end of my 68 chevy was making a howling noise going down the road. I pulled the rearend out and opened up the third member to find a huge chunk missing from the ring gear. I could just replace the ring and pinion and drive but I think lowering the ratio to a 4:11 or 4:56 with an eaton posi is the plan. I can still drive the beater-Calin
