The Moral of the Story Is...

Spider Encounter

Tuesday night, I pulled up to my house after a long day of work and other activities. I parked my Mazda in front of my S10 and my brother's Toyota, simply wanting to be done with the day.

I instantly proceeded to drape myself in an elaborate, massive spider web which was strategically built in the four foot gap between my S10 and a sapling. Now, this wasn't the normal stringy, airy, annoying spider web. No, it was a fresh, sticky, crackling type of web, with its circular formation perfectly pressed against my purse and body. Due to utter nighttime blackness and an absent mind, I had literally walked face first into the heart of nature's trap. Luckily, being massive and giant compared to the grip of this trap, I dragged it along with me to the front door, spazzing the whole way in an effort to rid myself of this sillystring-like substance.

Now, I know we're both thinking the same thing at this point: where is the web's owner? My first source of light appeared in the form of the porch light. Instinctively I must have felt the eerie presence of a visitor, and upon glancing at my left shoulder, there he was, about four inches from my face. Ah, question answered!

Now, as you can imagine, something that creates a sillystring-like web is quite... large. What happened next was equivalent to a full-on freakout episode. A bystander, unaware of the situation, would have thought I was being attacked by demons. Needless to say, I successfully rid myself of the "spider." I say "spider" because this creature resembled a furry mammal that would presumably give live birth.

Knowing that this "thing" was chilling on my shoulder, inches from my face, as I walked in darkness to the porch is simply terrifying. Additionally, I had innocently walked STRAIGHT into it! Imagine if it had landed on my face. Surprise! I wonder, if it had been light out, and I had known what I was doing, how much money would it have taken for me to do that? Probably more than anyone would be willing to pay!

The moral of the story is this: Don't walk in between areas where you KNOW "spiders" habitually build or potentially could build impressive webs in which to dwell!
