Toms bench seat

Check out this funky S10 seat I did for my buddy Tom McWeeny.

Tom is almost done with his dime project that features all kinds of early 60’s influences. When he asked me what material should he use this funky stuff jumped out of my memory banks. My dad has had this roll of material stored under his bench longer than I have been alive. I don’t know the car it was made for, but there is a 59 date code on the back so I assume it’s from that vintage. I made some simple pleats in the material and then combined it with some black vinyl and some gold welt. Now its time for me to do my own upholstery in my dime and this funky throw back material has got me thinking. I want to get some muscle car seat covers and cut out the dielectric pleats and sew them into my buckets. I’m not sure if it’s going to look like crap or not but I’m at least going to try.
