What's in Your Fuel?

Got Water in Your Fuel? I do.

Every now and then, I like to take my trucks apart just to see how things are going inside of them. It's good for relievin' stress and is cheaper than drugs.

Carburetors are pretty easy to work on and it doesn't take too long to rip one apart. Check out what I found inside of this Holley Dominator that was atop an engine that had been sitting for quite awhile. That white stuff is a sure sign that moisture had made its way into the fuel system. It will wreak havoc on the needle and seat assembly and plug up the passages inside of the carb so it was a good thing that I spotted it. Thankfully, its easy to clean and a bottle of fuel dryer dumped into the gas tank will ensure that whatever water is in there will be gone in short order.
