In case you were wondering, I have been working on at least one of my trucks. I'm hummin right along on the '73 inside my palatial storage unit.......
After ripping out the old small-block and turbo 350 tranny in less than 3 hours in my buddy Tim's driveway, we spent the next month installing a new LS1 and Gearstar 4L60E electronic overdrive tranny. Life got in the way, and the work on the truck slowed to a crawl. Frankly, it was tough to motivate myself to work on the thing in Tim's driveway. It got old draggin the truck out front from behind the fence, unloading all my tools from my truck, and then packing it all up again at the end of the day when work time was over. I always forgot something that I'd need too. Something drastic needed to happen if I was going to get that truck running again before the turn of the century.
Eventually, I realized that unless I moved the truck to my own shop, er storage unit, that I'd never get to do burnouts in the thing. So i stashed my drag boat at a friends house, and towed the '73 home. I've made mucho progress on it the last two weekends.
3. coolin system. almost done.
a few more more weekends and I"ll be able to hear the engine rumble. aww yeah!
