Burned Truck Found in the Desert

During a recent dirt bike ride in the desert, we came upon the burned remains of a relatively new Nissan Titan at the base of a set of rolling hills.

Roof damage indicated that the tires, which were now firmly and permanently planted on the ground, had momentarily seen sky. What happened? How did it burn? Why did it burn?
Here's my take:
A few rowdy guys in their mid 20s took the truck for a joyride in the desert. Too much liquid courage led them deeper and deeper into the hills. Too much speed off the backside of a "hump" sent them careening down the steep hill, causing them to lose control and roll it. After exiting the now-totaled truck, the guys then see the slight glow of a fire grow brighter and brighter. Their attempts to put the fire out are successful, but the damage is extensive. Knowing this truck is a goner, they douse the rest of it with gasoline and torch it, standing mesmerized around the massive truck bonfire. They return to camp the next morning without a truck, claiming it had been stolen during their run to town for water.
Your turn!
