The Brown Bomber C10 Lives!

1973 C10 LS1 Engine Swap Completed

I drove my '73 C10 six whole blocks yesterday for the first time in about 8 months and it was awesome!

the stock column sucked. The steering wheel lock was busted, as was the ignition switch, and it didn't tilt.

The engine swap is complete and I spent the weekend at Calin's shop with his dad as we buttoned up the last few details to make the truck roadworthy. We plasma-cut off the old bumper that was welded to the chassis. We also bolted-in my swap meet special tilt steering column and ditched the unshiftable reverse-lock out shifter. And the grand finale was taking out the worn out factory bench seat and fabbing up new mounts to bolt-in the oh-so-comfy split bucket seats and center console that we robbed from the Hot Rod Hemi Dodge Ram.

When the work was done, we dusted off the truck and I drove it all over 190th street in Redondo Beach, enjoying the rumble of the Flowmasters. Im a front end alignment away from being able to cruise this thing daily. I can't wait!
