On Day 8 of the Pickup Fix-Up tour Kustomwerx laid down the primer on the Parts Racer. I can no longer call the truck The Brown Bomber and I'm stoked about that. Can't wait for tomorrow.

These are samples of the single stage paint we'll use to cover the primer. Its close to the color I want to eventually go on the truck, but with a metallic in it. It'll lay down flat and hide the fact that we bodyworked the truck in just four days. It's not perfect but this truck never will be. It ain't a show truck.
The inside of the bed was sealed off from the outside because it was coated in black epoxy primer. It will stay this way until I can get a bedliner sprayed into it. I've got to put some holes in it for a fuel cell so we didn't bother painting it or putting the liner in now.

I spent the morning grinding the rest of the rust out of the ribbed bed floor and the sanding the walls with a d/a. I've breathed enough rust dust to last me a lifetime. Charlie, Brandon, and Calin were busy finishing the bodywork on the cab. The bed was primed inside and out by 1:30pm and then the cab was pushed into the booth and also sprayed. We got the bed wetsanded in preparation for paint right as the shop shut down at 5pm. Boy are these guys fast! The truck won't be perfect but after four days of work its a helluva lot straighter than it's ever been. The amount of work done to the doors, fenders and bed is pretty miraculous. Well, I need a shower and some food. I'll post again later.
